Reading
We finished our Non-Fiction unit on Who was Abraham Lincoln.  Comprehension worksheets need to be handed in for a grade.  Our next story will be, The Albertosaurus Mystery.  Please be aware sometime this week your child will bring home a take-home-story.

My class will be constructing their neighborhood maps.

Classroom Activities March 23-27

Week of March 22nd

Reading
We will be finishing our non-fiction unit this week (Abraham Lincoln).  In language we will be studying perspective.

Math

We our transitioning into our geometry unit.  The first concepts we will be working on is perimeter and area.

Social Studies
My class will be learning about coordinates, cardinal directions, intermediate directions, along with other map skills.  Maps test will be on Wed/Thur this week.  Afterwards we will be working on our group neighborhood project.  This project will have your child construct streets, roads, and landmarks.  They will also create map key and other map tools to help them map out their very own neighborhood.

Spelling Words

No spelling this week.  We will be working on capital cursive letters.
         
Reading
In reading we will be venturing out of our basil readers and into a couple chapter books.  The book that we are reading is Who is Abraham Lincoln.  Please beware that your child might be bringing their chapter book home along with their workbook.  In language class we will be learning about pronouns.

Math
