Reading
The students will be doing their comprehension test on Kamishibai Man.  Our next story will be Young Thomas Edison.  So beware that take-home-stories will be going home. We will be reading our turkey stories to the kindergartners this week.

Math

We our continuing to master our multiplication facts as well as introducing division.  Please have your child to continue to study their facts at home and return sheet every Wed. or Thursday

Study Guides will be given out on Monday as there will be a test on Energy and Mixtures this Thursday.  We will also be doing an experiment on waves.

Last week was our introduction to multiplication.  This week your child will use repeated addition and count by strategies to help them solve equations.  Please have your child to continue to study their facts at home and return sheet every Wed. or Thursday

The students will be reading Max’s Words, so beware that take-home-stories will be going home. We will finish our comma books and have a quiz on them Tuesday.  We will also review parts of speech through a project the students will be doing in relation to their story.

·        Math

·        Your child will be reviewing story problems.  Later this week we will introduce multiplication and division through repeated addition.  Multiplication/division cards will be going home. They will be checked on a weekly basis.  Treat them like you would your reading log.  As soon as your child has mastered his or her facts, there will be no need to study anymore.  Look at sheet in zip-lock bag for further details.

·        Science

·        Ch. 11 test on Matter will be Monday and Tuesday this week.  Following the test we will move on to our mixtures unit.  There will be a research assignment going home this week on separating mixtures
