Spelling Words

In place of spelling this week will be working on our handwriting.

                  

Reading
The students will be finishing up their Christmas stories and practice reading them aloud.  On Wednesday they will read them to Mrs. Schumacher’s kindergarten class.

Math

This week we will introduce division and tie it into our multiplication. 

 

Science

Read Chapter 12 Mixtures and take notes. Seperating Mixture Experiment on Wednesday.

 

Specials this week:

Tuesday – Christmas Play Dress Rehearsal

Wednesday – Music

Thursday – Open (Christmas Project)

Comprehension test on The Science Fair on Monday. We won’t be reading a story this week; instead we will be writing a Christmas story

 

Math

We are continuing to work on the concepts of multiplication and division.  Students are using manipulatives to create groups and sets. 

 

Science

-Ch. 11 Test Matter/Changes on Monday

-We will start Ch 12 Mixtures

My students will start the story The Science Fair.  Comprehension test will be on Friday. We will be working on homophones to get us ready for our spelling test!

 

Math

This week we will be starting multiplication and division.  This is the first week of many that we will be working on this difficult concept.

 

Science

-Ch. 11 Matter/Changes

-Physical change and Chemical Change Experiment

Test will be on Ch 11 provided we get through all of the material.
