Reading
Due to field trips to the Audobaun, we will only have our regular reading class Wednesday and Friday this week. We will be reading The Trial of Cardigan Jones. Be aware that sometime this week your child will be receiving a take-home book of the story to read to you.  When finished, please sign and return tomorrow.  In language we will continue working on subjects and predicates

Reading
The students will be reading Chuka’s Hawk.  We will also be going over parts of speech.  On Friday we will use our parts of speech to construct a Diamante poem.

Math

This will be the first week in our walk to read classes.  We are currently working on adding and subtracting within a 1,000.

Science

In my class we will be learning about the three types of matter.  Also, we will learn the process of matter changing from one type of matter to another through physical and chemical changes.

Welcome Back!  I hope everyone has had a great summer.  I’m really excited to meet all of the new 3^rd graders this year.

Reading

The students will be reading Chuka’s Hawk.  The students will be doing a corresponding worksheet packet that goes along with the story 

Math

We are currently doing placement tests to see which class will be best for your child.

Science

We will begin science on Friday.  Your child will have me for 6 weeks and then rotate classrooms.  In my class we will be learning about Physical science.
