Reading
In reading we will be venturing out of our basil readers and into a couple chapter books.  The book that we are reading is  Stanley, Flat Again.  Please beware that your child might be bringing their chapter book home along with their workbook.  In language class we will be learning about suffixes, prefixes, and base words

Social Studies

-Neighborhood Maps Project

Your child will be doing a neighborhood group project in which they have to create a map key, follow cardinal/intermediate directions, and use other map skills to construct a 3-D neighborhood.

We will be finishing up our division unit this week.  Next week my class will be learning about fractions

Social Studies

We our continuing to learn about maps skills and latitude and longitude.  This I will be introducing map scale to the students.  Be on the lookout for study guides going home this week as there will be a test on Monday.
