The students will be reading will be finishing up Destin’s Gift and will start our new book, Pop’s Bridge  Be aware that sometime this week your child will be receiving a take-home book of the story to read to you.  When finished, please sign and return tomorrow. 

In language we will continue working on our plural books

-No School Monday, Sept. 23^rd (PIR Day)

 

Spelling Words

 

No Spelling this week. We will have cursive in place of spelling. For those who missed words the previous week, we will have a test on Friday.

                  

Reading
The students will be reading Destiny’s Gift.  There will be no take-home book this week. 

In language we will introduce plurals and the rules to plurals.

 

Math

My students will be working on adding and subtracting 3 digit numbers, along with estimating sums.  Test will be on Thursday this week.

 

Science

-Mixtures

They will be taking notes on vocab words.  Also, we will be doing a separating mixture experiment on Thursday.

My students will be working on base 10 and place value and patterns.  We will be using base 10 blocks along with flipcharts and interaction with the smart board. 

 

Science

My students will be working on base 10 and place value and patterns.  We will be using base 10 blocks along with flipcharts and interaction with the smart board. 

 

Science

In my class we will be learning about the three types of matter.  Also, we will learn the process of matter changing from one type of matter to another through physical and chemical changes.  This week we will be having a couple experiments where my students will identify the type of matter. The later one, they will have to identify the physical changes that occur.
